Question: When and where does the duration on Animate Pawn apply?
Only in battle; after this time, the magic animating the pawn is too stressed and the pawn falls limp if not already dead.

Question: What are the limits of World of Illusion?
World Of Illusion, as the name implies, isn't real. You can make an afflicted opponent think anything you want is happening as you control their sensory input, but mechanically you have no further power over them with this ability.

Question: How many extra actions can I theoretically get with Animate Shadow?
The short answer is two; one from the ability itself and one if you complete the Shadow Mage ability path, and can only be a physical attack, magical attack, or utility power. Note that even an ability you could normally use more than once, such as a weapon-based physical attack using the Martial Artist ability path or an ability that mechanically lets you attack more than once per turn, does not overcome this limitation; the single (or double for shadow mages) extra attack is simply added on to your normal total number of attacks. However, if your shadow is using an ability you already have Contingency on, this still applies, allowing you to potentially have as many extra abilities multiplied by two as you can chain together with Contingency abilities.

Question: Eldritch Attack claims it can overcome bonuses from physical defenses and magical resistances. What are the limits on that?
Eldritch Attack is best used in combination with something else. In addition to any damage it might do, Eldritch Attack has the unique ability of potentially negating the defenses of your opponent automatically.
The most basic (and without Contingency the only legal) use of Eldritch Attack as a combo ability is with a physical attack. Once you empower your weapon with this ability, your opponent's armor, shields, and even intuitive training don't make a difference. The weapon strikes sure and hard.
Once Contingency gets involved, as always, things get more complicated. To make it easier, just remember a simple rule of thumb; Eldritch Attack, combined with a magical attack via Contingency, negates any immunity to the attack with exception to Energy Immunity (Eldritch). Anyone who is immune to Eldritch Attack, obviously, is immune to its ability to negate other attacks as well.
