Re: Magical Healing FAQ's
Question: Why does Heal Hit Points depend on Magic when it uses a slot for Resistance?
The reason for this is a thematic device. Yes, Resistance represents your ability to defend against offensive magical abilities and, barring some utility powers, is the attribute that purchases most defensive magical abilities. However, Magic represents your ability to wield magic, which is what you are doing when you activate Heal Hit Points or abilities like it. Hence, Magic affects the actual potency of this ability.

Question: What are the legal uses of Exorcise Spirit?
As stated in the ability mechanic, Exorcise Spirit may be used to force a possessing entity out of its host body by forcing that person to make a Resistance check against your Magic check. It is also stated that the ability may be used to free a victim of a mind-affecting ability in the same manner.
Other legal uses of this ability include...
= Using this ability against a spirit or other possessing entity you have already exorcised from a host body weakens it once per combat, forcing the re-exorcised entity to take a -2 penalty on Defense and Resistance checks for the remainder of combat.
= Gaining a +2 bonus on Resistance checks against the Possession ability
