AUTOMATONS
Automatons are creatures created from previously non-living matter. They are distinct from undead in that they were never alive, and typically have in common that the animating force responsible for them is thoroughly alien, such as a magic spell or technological device.
Golems, which can be created with Animate Pawn, are considered automatons.
Creatures in this category include...
Cogs
Dolls

Re: Races (By Type)
DEMONS
The mirror opposite of angels, demons are depraved creatures of ultimate evil, seeking to tear down the world and return everything to a state of nothingness, from the likes of which legend claims they first sprung.
Demons are so tainted with evil that they are automatically considered evil creatures for the purposes of abilities like Light Attack that target them, even if they are attempting to do something good.

Re: Races (By Type)
EXTRATERRESTRIALS
Creatures that are not native to the world. In order to become a native race, by criteria of this system, a race must have settled on a world long enough to populate to such a degree as to become known to other races as common, or have existed in an area for at least a few generations (60 years).
Because they are not from this world, extraterrestrials are not traditionally bound by the gods of the world they visit, but other alien gods may be responsible for them. Should they die while visiting another world, extraterrestrials find themselves in an afterlife corresponding to their own world's mythology. In this manner, all characters visiting another world temporarily become extraterrestrials.
Balaurians
Genies
Ororyu
Shadowfolk
Tusceni

HUMANOIDS
Generally speaking, a humanoid is a mostly non-magical creature with the same general shape and size as a human, although some variations may and do occur. As a type, they are generally the "mortal" races created by the gods, and in whom the most potential for growth may be found. This, however, is wrought with exceptions; there are mortals of many other types, and while humanoids most often breed individuals that change the world, such persons of any type may be known.
Creatures in this category include...
Anubians
Balaurians
Dwarves
Human
Kitsunemimi
Luksi
Nekomimi
Nezumimi
Nyoka
Tengu
Wolf Demons

Re: Races (By Type)
ANIMISMS
Animisms, sometimes known as fey (although that word refers more specifically to sylvan animisms), are nature spirits that inhabit the wild areas of the world. They are most typically bound to the area they inhabit, either through a supernatural link or a psychological need to be there. Note that the term "spirit" is disassociated from its modern context in that they need not be unliving or even disembodied (many nature spirits are commonly confused for humanoids and may even be able to interbreed with them). The term simply refers to their spiritual status; humanoids possess a duality between their souls and bodies that supersedes both, while animisms return to nature when they die and are thereafter spawned again.

Centaurs
Elves
Fairy
Gnomes
Grasslanders
Guardian Beast
Kitsune
Merfolk

Re: Races (By Type)
UNDEAD
These once-living creatures have somehow superseded death itself and returned to the world of the living. The undead are most typically created from humanoids, whose dual soul allows them to decide their own fates even after death, but the dark powers responsible for such a perversion of nature may affect even nature itself, and so undead of any type save automatons are theoretically possible.
Creatures in this category include...
Deathmage
Dhampir
Graveborn
Mummies
Revenants
Spirits
Vampire
Wraiths
