Re: Racial Package FAQ's
Question: Why don't the minimum attributes, required abilities, and/or weakness points match up?
AVA was invented by humans, and humans make mistakes. If you see a glaring error in the math for a racial package, please email me at lrogue7@yahoo.com telling me what's wrong and where. I'll be glad to look it over and either fix the package right up or mail you back to explain the anomaly.
Re: Racial Package FAQ's
The merfolk racial package says they can only shapechange into humanoids. What exactly is a humanoid?
A humanoid is any race that has two legs, two arms, one head, the ability to interbreed with humans, and minimal or no magical abilities. Basically, they're races very similar to humans. Elves, being fey, are a notable exception to this grouping in AVA rules. Your storyteller may rule that a certain race does or does not constitute a humanoid in their game, but to be on the safe side, the four races mentioned in that racial package - humans, dwarves, kitsunemimi, and nekomimi - are always humanoids.

Question: Why is there no ability out there to turn/rebuke undead?
While the turn/rebuke undead ability and its many copycats have bolstered rpg holy warriors for ages, it has also somewhat diminished the overall playability of undead characters. Being a more story-based system, AVA sought to remind players what it means to be undead. Those who are dead but cannot die are nothing if not resilient, and should not be taken so lightly as to be dismissed with a single check. That said, certain malicious spirits may be driven out by the Exorcise Spirit ability. For legal uses of this ability, see Magical Healing FAQ's.
